L’éducation Démocratique : qu’est-ce que c’est ?

Le Congrès International pour l’Education Démocratique, tenu en 2005, à Berlin, a attiré 200 participants de 28 pays différents. Ses participants se sont mis d’accord sur la déclaration suivante :

Nous croyons que, dans tout environnement éducatif, les jeunes ont le droit de décider chacun comment, quand, quoi, où et avec qui ils apprennent, d’avoir un rôle égal dans toutes les décisions sur la manière dont leurs institutions, et, en particulier, leurs école s’organisent et quelles règles et quelles sanctions sont nécessaires, si tant est qu’il y en ait.

Voici d’autres propositions de définition :

Les divers participants de l’éducation démocratique sont tous en accord avec l’esprit de la Déclaration des Droits de l’Homme et celle sur les Droits de l’Enfant et donc, pour s’en servir comme base essentielle dans les activités quotidiennes des établissements où l’on étudie.

IDEC en Nouvelle-Zélande

Les adhérents de l’éducation démocratique croient qu’une éducation effective doit inclure la possibilité de décider pour soi et de participer réellement aux processus démocratiques pour chaque étudiant, dans sa vie quotidienne. (John Hiner)
L’éducation démocratique est une éducation où les enseignants et les apprenants travaillent en tant qu’égaux.

An der IDEC, die vom 31. Juli bis zum 6. August 2005 in Berlin stattfand, nahmen 200 Menschen aus 28 Ländern teil. Diese Teilnehmer verständigten sich auf die folgende Erklärung:

• Wir glauben, daß wo immer es um Bildung geht, junge Menschen das Recht haben, individuell zu entscheiden, was, wie, wo, wann und mit wem sie lernen
• gleichberechtigt an Entscheidungen darüber beteiligt zu sein, wie ihre Organisationen insbesondere ihre Schulen geführt werden, ob Regeln und Sanktionen nötig sind und gegebenenfalls welche.

Es gibt weitere Versuche, demokratische Bildung zu definieren:

Die unterschiedlichen, an Demokratischer Bildung Beteiligten eint, dass sie den Geist der Allgemeinen Erklärung der Menschenrechte und der Kinderrechtskonvention hochhalten und beide als grundlegenden Rahmen in der alltäglichen Praxis in jeder Lernumgebung umsetzen.

IDEC in Neuseeland

Die Befürworter demokratischer Bildung glauben, dass effektive Bildung persönliche Selbstbestimmung und die Möglichkeit zu sinnvoller Teilhabe an demokratischen Prozessen im Alltag jedes Schülers umfassen muss.

 What is Democratic Education?

Teachers and students have an equal vote in the decisions about their their learning and their social lives

At the Berlin IDEC in 2005 the participants agreed on the following statement:
We believe that, in any educational setting, young people have the right:

• to decide individually how, when, what, where and with whom they learn
• to have an equal share in the decision-making as to how their organisations – in particular their schools – are run, and which rules and sanctions, if any, are necessary.

Here are some other attempts at definition:

"The diverse participants in Democratic Education are united in upholding the spirit of the Declaration of Human Rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child and implementing this as the primary framework for the day-to-day practices in all learning environments."

"The proponents of democratic education believe that effective education must include personal self-determination and the opportunity for meaningful participation in democratic processes in each student's day to day life."

¿ Qué es la educación democrática ?

En Berlín ( IDEC 2005 ) los participantes estuvieron de acuerdo con la siguiente declaración:

Creemos que en cualquier medio educativo, principalmente en las escuelas, la gente jóven tiene derecho a formar parte de la organización,a participar en el proceso de toma de decisiones, y a controlar y gobernar si es necesario.

Noi sosteniamo che, in qualsiasi contesto educativo, i bambini e le bambine, i ragazzi e le ragazze abbiano il diritto di decidere individualmente, come, quando, che cosa, dove e con chi imparare e abbiano il diritto di condividere in modo paritario, le scelte che riguardano i loro ambiti organizzati, in modo particolare le loro scuole, stabilendo, se ritenuto necessario regole e sanzioni.

Ecco alcune altre proposte alla definizione di Educazione Democratica:

I partecipanti all’Educazione Democratica sono concordi nel sostenere lo spirito della Dichiarazione dei Diritti Umani e la Convenzione sui diritti dell’infanzia, e la loro applicazione come quadro principale su cui si esercitano le attività quotidiane in qualsiasi ambito educativo.

IDEC Nuova Zelanda

I fautori dell’Educazione Democratica sostengono che l’educazione efficace debba includere autodeterminazione personale e opportunità di partecipare in modo significativo ed attivo ai processi democratici nella vita quotidiana di ciascuno studente.
