Latest news on IDEC 2009

Tae Wook Ha has sent the following email.

Dear friends

Despite the official cancellation of IDEC 2009 KOREA, its Organising Committee is discussing how to help those who still want to come to Korea.

The official support for accommodation, guides around Seoul and arrangements with schools, teachers, parents of Korean democratic schools is in the process of arrangement.

So far, there are about 12 people confirming that they still want to come to Korea despite the cancellation and we hope we can have the exact number by tomorrow. To make this easier, Organising Committee is asking you to let them know how many of you decide to come. You can email them on idec2009@gmail.com.

Besides this, after the shock and despair by the cancellation of IDEC 2009, young people who worked here for the managing committee have decided to organise something unofficially. Officially, it is a camp for the young people who worked for the managing committee for the last half year,  and they wish you to be there if you still decide to come to Korea and at least have a chance to meet, discuss and have fun. It is from 3 Aug (Mon) to 6 Aug (Wed) at Jeonin School in Chuncheon City and you will be guided from Seoul by a group of them.

Jeonin School took a key roles in preparing the first part of IDEC originally planned and express that they are happy to offer their school for the event.

I will let you know more details shortly.

Best

Tae

This will be the last communication on this topic from IDEN, as it is assumed that anyone planning to go to Korea will keep in touch with the Koreans themselves.
